This is my motherboard:

I want the Xonar DGX 5.1 PCI - Express sound card.

Is my onboard audio better or should I buy it?

Question is do you really need a sound card? Does your ears get annoyed with your current sound output? if yes then go :D

Well I don't know that's why I'm asking you guys if it is better lol.

It doesn't sound awful but it doesn't sound crispy clear. But my motherboard is kinda new and I wanna know if the onboard audio is better than the sound card.

The xonar would do you good. No doubt about that :) . And it is way better than the current onboard audio. :)  Because it is a dedicated card for sound.

Usually hard core gamers seek out discrete sound cards for the 360 degree environmental audio effects during gaming, though motherboard audio is pretty good today, until you run a discrete sound card for yourself you'll be satisfied with what you have.

If you have not heard the difference, you do not know the difference, simple as that.
