Hello,

I am looking to treat myself for Christmas by buying myself a keyboard. I'm currently looking at the Ducky DK-9008 Shine III, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-070-DK, are there any reviews or any experiences with this keyboard that someone can share? There isn't much on the internet about it. So I would like to hear, thanks!

I got one myself as soon as they came on sale over here, one word: FANTASTIC!

Couldn't be happier with the thing, a nice plain looking keyboard (No stupid stuff like Roccat keyboards) that delivers on all fronts, the build quality is great, lighting modes are really nice, plenty of customisation options, just an all-round nice keyboard!

I got mine with green LEDs and Black switches, though you can have nearly any variant from them. I plan to get blue LEDs for the numbers, red (or orange, not decided yet) for the function keys, escape key and WASD keys, and white LEDs on the space bar and arrow keys, as well as getting both grey and white key packs, so I can have white A-Z keys and grey numbers (though I've yet to decide on this)...

Just amazing keyboards all round, definitely worth it!

Thank you for replying! It sounds like you really enjoy the keyboard, so it seems I will be going ahead with it, surfing around the internet with whatever reviews I could find everyone loved it. I hope to have just standard blue LED switches with it, but your one sounds amazing! Thank you for the information. One quick question, is the wire braided fibre? Or is it just plastic?

Thanks, Robbie.

I have the Ducky Shine II, MX Brown Switches with red backlighting, and love the thing.

Dont think the cable would have changed, its plastic, which I admit was a bit miffed at given the rest of my setup is Razer gear which have pretty good braided cables. Though the cable is detachable from the keyboard, so you could buy an aftermarket sleeved one or sleeve it yourself.

Yeah, as manofchalk says, the cable is plastic, and surprisingly, it's quite short! Given the price you would have thought that it'd come with a slightly better cable, but hey, the fact that it's detachable is nice in it's own right.
