Hello again :)

I've given up on installing KXStudio and Backtrack, partly because my optical drive's just broken. Anyway, now I want to install Kali! It's based on Debian and it looks pretty cool.

But I need help again... What file system do I use? What options do I put for it? I have a screenshot of the partition editing thing here:

I want to use partition #3, and I'm doing this in VirtualBox. I mounted my HDD as a RAW disk, using that 40GB partition but for some reason it detects my other partitions too...
I don't mind what bootloader I use though.

My DVD drive doesn't work, my BIOS doesn't support USB booting, I have no idea how to network boot but I don't want to because my WiFi is so unreliable...

Help please :)

In virtualbox did you create a new virtual drive for this?

I followed a tutorial here: http://bit.ly/IO5nhb
I created the RAW disk at C:\hostdrive.vmdk

Then I loaded it into VirtualBox and onto Kali, mounted it and started installing.

You probably won't get kali to do what you want in a vm machine as it will have some hardware limitations. You should probably go to their site to ask around. Plus they get testy about discussing these sorts of things here.

Now if you were to ask how do I prevent an intrusion then we can talk.
