One company's HD7790 will be much like another's. Look for differences like price and warranty coverage. I have had good results with both Sapphire and XFX. Based on some old review articles, I believe that XFX may use some slightly better components, at least on some boards.

Hi,

It depends on what you want to game.

For games like BF4 it will come very short. BF4 needs at least 3gb of memory to run nicely. I have Sapphire HD7950 OC Boost vapor-x in crossfire and BF4 runs realy smooth on ultra 1920x1080. I would suggest that you safe some more money and go for a R9 270x. It is also possible to put 3 of these cards in a 3-way crossfire, but then you could better get yoursefl a R9 290 :-)

No game yet "needs" 3GB of RAM for a single 1080p display, not even a heavily-modded Skyrim.
A HD7790 will play modern games, likely on a mix of medium and high settings. If your games are even a couple of years old, it will play them on high to max settings.

Onus, I wish you good luck on that one. I have tried it with a 1 GB GPU and nothing but drama when gaming. Better someone could invest in a descent GPU which is available for around 200-250 euro's.

I play mostly older titles, but also some GW2 and Neverwinter. Both of those can be played on "enjoyable" (i.e. medium to high, and a couple of ultra, with no AA) settings on a 1GB HD7750.

You haven't linked the Sapphire one for comparison, but I can tell you that the XFX cards I've owned have "felt" better; their shrouds are aluminum rather than cheap plastic. I'm still using my XFX HD7870 as my primary card. It runs cooly, doesn't howl, and seems to have at least some overclocking headroom (though I've never really pushed it).

ROFLOL! Hey judge and help yourself :-) Try BF4 on the HD7790 with 1GB "DDR3" and let me know! I have tried and it was not even enjoyable playing it. But good luck to you too!

Not to worry, I don't buy gaming cards with DDR3; I consider them abominations.
