Hello,
I am having problem connecting my PC GeForce 630 (from DVI-I Dual Link) to LG monitor (to DVI-D Dual Link) using DVI-D Single Link cable. Right now it is connected by VGA cable, but when I connect with DVI-D Single Link the monitor goes black to power saving mode. Can you help me solve this problem?! Thank you!
Zedd

Well, connecting from DVI-D to DVI-I is supposed to work -- according to nVidia, the DVI-I just ignores the analog portion if it's not there.

So....maybe the problem is that you're using *single*-link cable for *dual*-link connectors? Have you tried a dual-link cable yet?

Try a dual link cable.

Why do you think I cannot use a single-link cable? I don't need analog, just digital video at 1920x1080, which this cable supports. So, I don't want to buy another cable just to find out that that wasn't the problem.

Make sure the monitor is set to digital input.

Seems this problem is common with LG monitors, probably has to do with their proprietary power saving mode.

Maybe you'll figure it out before I do

I tried to some of the instructions such as shutting pc and monitor, disconnecting power and vga cables, pressing the power buttons to drain any remaining power, reconnecting dvi and power cables and switching on, but to no avail. I tried switching off the Power Saving Mode of my monitor but still no luck. When I connect my dvi cable it while VGA cable is connected, it stays on, but when I disconnect the vga cable it shows D-Sub Power Saving mode and goes blank. Then I reconnect VGA but it still stays black until I disconnect the dvi cable. Strange. I don't understand.

Btw, I also couldn't set up a connection to my TV as well. I used an HDMI cable to connect my TV to the same graphics card, but my pc cannot detect it. I tried to do it from nvidia's control panel but no luck.

Btw, my monitor is LG23EA53. When I first connected it to my pc I used a VGA cable, so in my display settings it show as LG 23EA53(Analog). Could it be that my video card simply switched its own digital output and uses only analog? If so, how can I switch it back on?

You need to set your monitor to digital input. Try pressing the buttons on the front.
My monitros have a button to select DVI/VGA

When I connect my dvi cable and press INPUT/Exit button (to switch to digital mode) the screen shows "DVI-D No Signal. Wait until it goes to power saving mode", and then the screen goes blank.
To answer previous question - no, I am not using multiple monitors. I tried to connect to TV via HDMI but it didn't work as well.
