I'm in the market for a new monitor to replace my 60 hz Monitor for gaming. I've seen two monitors which have a refresh rate of 120 or higher: ASUS VG Series VG278HE 27-In and the BenQ XL Series XL2420TE Black-Red 24-In. I'm have a dual monitor set-up and will use my current 27-In BenQ (60-70 Hz) monitor as my secondary when I upgrade. The only problem I have is, according to many reviews and screenshots of the two aforementioned displays, the picture quality is somewhat lacking. In other words, they're perfect for gaming and mediocre for everything else. If I've been ill-informed, please let me know.

I want to do my main work (email, writing, watching movies, etc...) as well as gaming--since I have no choice for full-screen games-- on my primary screen. My second display is mainly for multitasking. Therefore, I want a monitor which is good for EVERYTHING, with a high refresh rate and great picture quality for everything else. Can anyone recommend one, or is this just a sacrifice I will have to make for higher FPS? Otherwise, I would have to set the new high FPS display as my secondary monitor and find a way to force full-screen games to open on that one. I use DisplayFusion, but I'm not sure it has that capability.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6wIMaYjklE Here is a review from someone I trust about tech on the Ben Q

I actually bought 3x of the XL2420TE after watching this review myself, and I can say they are amazing when it comes to the refresh rate. They are a little bright but I haven't messed with the settings to much
