AMD FX-4200 switching to FX-6300

I have a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard and I was wanting to know if I could take out the current cpu in it (amd fx-4200) and put in the fx-6300? I have a geforce gtx 760 and my cpu is somewhat bottlenecking it. Could you guys tell me if the fx-6300 is a good fix for bottlenecking and would it fit in the motherboards cpu socket and not hurt/mess with the motherboard? Please reply!

That should work without issue, but don't expect to be doing any overclocking. The FX 6300 should be a noticeable upgrade from the 4200.

fx 6300/fx 8320 where do u live mate

FX 8320 all the way for around $150. Awesome bang for buck, as you can raise the clock close to 8350 performance levels with minimal effort.
