NEED TO KNOW HOW OTHER THAN BOOT FROM CD N BIOS. IT BOOTED UP SAYIN NOTHING BUT DISK READ ERROR .ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Toshiba Support can supply factory recovery discs for some models, depending on it's age:
Europe: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/
America: https://support.toshiba.com/repair

Note: On the American site you'll need to scroll down the page to see the relevant section ("Get Recovery Media").

However, if you are getting "Disk Read Error" you may first have to replace the hard drive as it may have failed. You can test it with Hitach Drive Fitness Test for DOS which loads from a bootable CD that you can make from the CD Image available here: http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads#DFT
