hello
I've been wanting to buy a gaming pc for a long time now but need help with certain components, mainly so its compatible with each part and that I'm spending my money on good parts for my budget!
the pc will mainly be used for gaming! and other everyday use like web browsing, word, watching hd films and what not :pt1cable:
decided that I will go for a decent cpu&gpu just need help with the rest
I live in the uk

my budget = £600-700 want to keep it away from £700 if possible

parts so far:

cpu - Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor = £175.59
http://www.ebuyer.com/467647-cpu-core-i5-4670k-3-40ghz-...

video card - MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card = £199.98 (2GB vram enough?)
http://www.ebuyer.com/519311-msi-gtx-760-twinfrozr-oc-2...

memory - Kingston Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory = £63.34
http://www.ebuyer.com/272176-kingston-8gb-2x4gb-ddr3-16...
note on pcpart picker it said "Kingston Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum"
is that right!?

storage - Seagate 1TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive - OEM = £44.00
http://www.ebuyer.com/319639-seagate-1tb-barracuda-inte...

power supply (I picked this due to price and it had good ratings on pc part picker but is it good for price? dont want to spend too much on a power supply when 500W is enough? and up to 85% power efficiency seems okay?) ~
Corsair 500W CXM Builder Modular 80 Plus Bronze PSU 3 Year Warranty = £51.99
http://www.ebuyer.com/429986-corsair-cx-series-cx500m-a...

optical drive - Samsung SH-224DB 24X Internal DVD Writer with SATA - OEM = £12.50
http://www.ebuyer.com/506016-samsung-24x-sata-internal-...

motherboard - I have no idea on this! serious help needed I don't understand what all the ATX and other stuff means
motherboard should be compatible with all parts
with decent audio not over the top but good
future proof I plan on upgrading my video card to a GTX770/780 a few years later
also after a few months of using the system I will OC the cpu (hope its not too hard) so I would need a motherboard that will let me do that?

case - again I thought this would be simple to choose but I was wrong I don't know what to choose!
I don't want to pay a lot for a case just need one that gets the job done, quite, has good air flow, can fit everything in, easy to set up inside and is reasonably priced (hope that's not too much to ask for :)  ) and look okay black sleek

price so far = £553.40 not including motherboard and case

I am open to your recommendations
I'm sticking to intel&nvidia, if there is money left I could use that towards a better video card!

extra's I will need not included in main budget this is separate

OS - windows 7 home premium 64bit
monitor - 22" full hd 1920x1080, hdmi should be the better input for picture quality?
any recommendations? I dont think I need to spend over £150 to get a good monitor

Hopefully I made sense and look foward to hearing your suggestions for my first ever gaming pc!!
Thanks in advance

nice I'll add some more fans later
so with the MB, ram and case you suggested (no window version) the price is £749.76 not bad, I knew I would go over budget but £49.76 is not that much so its okay

just some final questions
the MB is future proof because I will upgrade video card eventually and I can OC cpu with that MB?
and is this a powerful build for price? I will be able to play most games on high settings?

sorry to be a pain just want to make sure on everything 100% I'm new to all this and still learning

MB is a damn fine mobo, powerful for the price, you can of course upgrade the video card eventually, but if you plan on doing so maybe consider a more powerful power supply now as you will need one for a better card, you can OC the CPU with that motherboard but will need an aftermarket cooler

ahhh I understand
so when I OC the cpu it would be wise to buy a fan like this? (I dont plan on OCing straight away just something I plan on doing eventually)
http://www.ebuyer.com/195165-noctua-nh-d14-dual-radiato...
(just for example)

Look I found a msi GTX770 gaming for only £50 extra!!!
Do you think I should get this card instead?
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-msi-gtx-770-tf-gamin...(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1098mhz-boost-1150mhz-cores-1536-dport-dvi
If I dont OC the cpu, the powersupply should be able to handle it? right?

and then when I do eventually OC the cpu I will upgrade the powersupply and have a cpu cooler

interesting gigabyte is a better brand than msi when it comes to cards?

BTW Thanks for all your help!! Patrick I will defiantly use the MB, ram, case and monitor you recommended

if I can afford it I will also get the 770 video card and PSU you recommended

Thanks again and I cant wait to get the parts and assemble it
