I bought some dd3 dual channel ram for a mobo which supports dd3 dual channel ram.

Question is, are there different physical sizes of dd3 dual channel ram? I ask because it seems like the slots are a little too shallow to push the ram in all the way. I'm afraid to push harder for fear of breaking the mobo.

Mobo in question: asrock z87 extreme 6
Ram in question: gskill ripjaw F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

Thanks

there all about the same the only difference is some come with taller headspreaders and can be blocking cpu coolers and such if therer too tall.

if its ddr3 than it will work.

there is a small ridge on the slot and on the ram module. they have to line up (to make sure you're inserting it the proper way in). make sure to open the brackets on the side of the slot completely and then insert the module and push until the brackets clip on the memory by themselves. once they are in, push the brackets on the side to fully click.
