ASrock extreme9 x79 MOBO is what I have. It's overclocked to 4.2 (not an insane oc I know). I was just wondering though, sometimes it has trouble starting up, and I have to reset about 3 times and a screen displays saying it failed to start , then counts down 10 seconds to give me time to go to BIOS, and then goes straight to windows. However, once comp goes to windows and remains on, everything is normal. My temps are good too, in the 40's when gaming, and 20-30's when idle. Also when i play BF4 nothing crashes and I don't see any distortions when playing or anything like that. Could it just be the motherboard itself?

Solution
you could try this get another sata cable and replace the one that is on the hdd with , you could also test your drive with the maker tool .

Same exact thing happens when I lower the overclock. Its weird. I also transferred my new 780ti's over from another rig and got rid of my 610. So i know its not a video issue. It's just the weirdest thing. its as if its not reading off my HDD when i first turn it on, but after pressing the reset button 3 times, it suddenly displays that screen i mentioned above in the first comment and then goes to windows happily working ever so greatly. I see in bios that it says something about the pressing of the reset button 3 times, but i dont want to change it to 0 because i dont know if that means i will never be able to press the button again for it to display anything. I dont know what exactly that option is called.
