im getting my pc for christmas. its gonna have a 750k and a 7870. i wont be able to over clock til a few months til i get my after market cooler and i wont be able to upgrade the cpu til around april. so my question is without an over clock, how much will my 750k bottleneck my 7870 at stock settings in games like battlefield 4

depends on the game, if its cpu intensive, it will bottleneck your 7870.. if your cpu usage is @60& and up and your gpu is below that while gaming, then it is.

Thanks for the help, thats what i assumed. how much of an overclock do you think itll need to make it kinda even out and not bottle neck. its a quad core clocked at 3.4

hmm depends on your motherboards capability to push this cpu man, maybe try 3.8ghz? if there's still bottlenecking I think the max is 4ghz. Sorry I'm not really an intel guy, havent tried oc'ing an intel cpu so better ask the others mate.

EDIT: and to attain a stable oc on that speed youll need a great cpu cooler dude.
