Format HDD with windows 7 disc?

Hello, I am going to be adding a 120gb SSD along with my current 500GB HDD. I am going to be formatting my HDD with OS installed. Can I just run through the Windows 7 installation to format the HDD and not continue with the installation?(by exiting the installation, and removing disc) So after that I will be installing windows 7 to SSD.

when you want to install the OS, it'll prompt you to pick which hard drive to install it on. in your case it'll list both ssd and hard drive in the menu
all you have to do is delete/format the hard drive to clean it and then click on the ssd and click next to install the OS on the ssd

Awesome, So should I just keep both drives plugged in then? Was debating on keeping both in or not.
