So im looking for the upgrade which will impact my PC the most for gaming power. So, in question, the HD 7770 GPU, or an FX 4300 Processor. If someone could tell me what would maker my pc more powerful for gameplay that'd be great! (And yes, I know, my current PC isn't that good for gaming)

My Specs:
MoBo - Gigabyte 78LMT-S2p Ultra Durable Am3+
GPU - HD 6450 1GB
CPU - AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 270 Processor 3.4ghz

Obviously if i can afford both ill get them, but I was just wondering which will benefit my PC more
Thanks!

Hmm. Interesting, so just benchmarking here. I can currently run BF3 on lowest possible settings at 640xwhatever (as i said, not great) No point trying BF4. With the HD 7770 would i be able to play it at for example higher resolutions with higher antialiasing etc, but things that require CPU power will have to be on low still, and likewise with the FX 4300?

An fx 6300 will fit my board? Are you sure?

ah thankyou! Im bad with PC parts as you can already tell :s which motherboard on that list is the best for gaming? because as i recall more ghz doesnt necessarily mean more power.

Well from the CPU support list, the FX 4300 (quad core), FX-6300 (hex core) and FX- 8300 (octa core) would be an improvment, i think the FX 8300 is around the same price as the fx 6100 so if you saved up for the fx 8300, you would actually save money in the long run as you wouldn't have to upgrade again to get more performance out of the same board.

Plus it would allow you to play many more games than a Athlon x2.
