So I'm building my first computer and I've got a case and PSU already, but I'm not completely sure on what else I should pick. I'm a gamer and I'm hoping to do some recording in the future. I'm not really sure on the budget since a friend is paying for it, but I think $1500-$2000 might be the cap on it.
I'm kinda hoping for a red theme.

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K review
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77
Memory: Not sure if I should get 2x4gb or 2x8gb, because I'm not really sure on how much I need.
Storage: -
Storage: -
Video Card: -
Case: CM Storm Scout 2 Windowed
Power Supply: Antec HCG-900W
Optical Drive: -
Operating System: Win7 64bit
Monitor: sorted

About the Sabertooth Z77, a lot of reviews on it seem pretty bad. Can can anyone verify if its worth it?

2 4gb sticks are enough if youre over clocking which I suspect get 1866mhz or 2133. For gpu wise in that budget you could get a 780ti or a r9 290x either will preform amazingly
