My PC went through a lot of problems, one of the people i took it to didn't know what she was doing and just replaced things over and over. later i took it to a more credited man who got it to work but because the woman still had the CPU he bought a different one and put it in. well now i got the old CPU back and it is a Phenom II Black Edition the new CPU is a Athlon X2. so after getting the Phenom II i put in it expecting to see improvement. but now it seems that my games are running worse, for example in most of my games the Frame rate jerks around. Do i need to download drivers or something? or did i just downgrade my PC?

Well thanks for trying guys. Switching back to the Athlon is no longer an option. while i was switching them out i forgot that the cheap-ass Gigabyte MOBO had...problems. so when i flipped my PC right-side the CPU tumbled out and almost all of the pins where destroyed. But, even if the Phenom is weak why is it stuttering on even low settings?

After reading the thread, I will say that the temp is a little on the high side, but the AMDs have always run hot, just confirming that the fan is unobstructed, as that might be causing the slight rise in temp... standard temps for AMD processors is mid to high 40s Celsius. Aside from that, when you swapped the processor, did you perform a clean install of windows? you should always do a clean install when swapping out a major piece of the computer, just to make sure your system isn't trying to load incorrect drivers under windows etc... and for the final food for thought, check that your video card drivers are up-to-date and that there is sufficient cooling on the cards, as they maybe overheating...

Also, just so that we have a clearer idea of your problem, can you list your system specs i.e. Motherboard, RAM, HDD, Operating System, 32-bit or 64-bit, Video Card/s, and the games that you are playing... the more info you supply us, the more thorough we can be with our answers
