If I put my pc to sleep through windows=restart

If I put it to hibernate=restart

If I shut it down=turns off...then turns back on! (AKA, RESTART)

My mobo is asus z87 PRO and my psu is corsair series tx 850w. None seem to be defective. Its not random restarting, just when I do the above.

I checked the power options in windows, nothing is checked to turn to turn on the system. I just built this pc yesterday, and all parts are new. Windows 8.1 works fine and everything...just my pc keeps restarting when I do the above actions. Any help is appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Check your BIOS for settings that allow your WiFi adapter (or wireless activity) to wake/power-on your computer. Disable these settings if found.

To access BIOS configuration, reboot your computer and hold (or tap) F2 or DEL keys on first screen that appears...

Do you have ASUS AI Suite 3 installed? Go to your Start screen and start typing Control Panel. Click Control Panel in the search results, then click Programs. Look for ASUS AI Suite 3 and select it. Above the installed programs list, look for a Change button and click it if available. This should open an installation wizard for AI Suite 3. Step through the wizard, selecting custom/advanced installation as possible. Remove/uncheck anything WiFi related and complete the wizard.

I don't have access to a system with ASUS AI Suite 3, so I don't know if the above steps will be exact, but I think they should get you going in the right direction. I don't think this will remove the driver for your MB's on-board WiFi adapter, but you may need to use Windows' integrated WiFi network management. Personally, I prefer Windows' WiFi management. It's robust and I don't need some third-party app to annoy me with WiFi-related tasks/alerts.

See this thread for similar reports on the z87 Pro. Please reply to let us know if this helps...
