I have a CoolerMaster 725 watt PSU and an Asrock z77 Pro4-M mobo. My CPU is an i5 3470.

First question, will the PSU be able to handle the second card by a safe margin?

Also I only have molex connectors left to use so is it safe to assume I'll be okay using molex to 6-pin adaptors to power the second card?

Thanks very much.

yep, the psu should handle it fine. yes, you can use molex to pci 6pin, just make sure the 2 molex are not on the same psu cable.

should be fine as long as you dont overclock the cards and or CPU and also the 2 molex to 6 pin should be ok

Is it safe to use a SATA adaptor for the second 6-pin on the graphics card? Because I only have 3 molex cables free. Also the cards come factory overclocked so is it beneficial to lower to clock on the memory and the GPU?

use them as they are sent. if they are factory oc they know they can run stably at those settings - and guarantee it. i think the adapter needs 2 molex.

Should be fine if they are factory overclocked and i imagine you could use a sata adapter but a molex would be best

Is there any reliable source on the use of adaptors?

i would imagine there would be as most people would use them for hard drives same as molex's and IDE and SATA HDD's take the same power. when getting an adaptor make sure its a good quality one
