I want to upgrade my gaming PC. Im out of the loop because new Hardware seems to be coming out continuously. Right now I have:

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
EVGA nForce 750i SLI motherboard
8 Gigs of ram
Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti Graphic Cards

I have about $300 and wanted to know what I could do to make a good step toward a better gaming PC without swapping everything out. Please help me.

You could pick up a Q6600 cpu and overclock it to 3.3 gig. this would give you 50 % more processing power for about 40$. You will need an aftermarket cooler, or You could clock to 3 gig on standard volts.
This upgrade is worth doing anyway, because it will leave you a good usable spare pc.
