Hello :D

So after a year of slaughter gaming in my i3-3110m w/ Intel HD 4000 on my laptop, I'm thinking of getting a new gaming PC. I want to build it as it seems to be the only good option as technology in New Zealand is overpriced.

Would be great if someone used http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/ (NZ because I need local prices) and gave me a good setup. I'm planning to play BF4/Arma 3 on Med settings the least at 1080p w/ 60fps. I can downgrade Resolution to 1280x768 the least.

Thanks. :D

RexehAgentrds. If you intend to oc your cpu you should get a FX-6300. And a good 990fx motherboard and a good cooler.

Intel Core i3-4130 and Intel Core i5-4430 are good options for no-oc builds. Even for modern games.

i3-4130 is 10% better than i3-3220.
i5-4430 = i5-2500k at stock.

Check http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html for reference.

If you turn the resolution down , or have a monitor made in 1995

Don't be a close minded ignorant idiot.Op don't buy his build mine has way better performance cpu/gpu combo.Me and outlander_04 are obviously right
Also ram is much better

A good comparison of relative hardware performance in BF4 . The latest i3's are not covered in the cpu comparisons but the i3 2100 is only a little worse in performance than current i3's
The AMD FX 6300 monsters the i3's performance in that set up and image details .
The i3 is averaging 39 fps
The FX 6300 is averaging 66 fps

When you get in to multiplayer situations the extra threading pays off even more

When you factor in a little overclocking of the FX 6300 you can have performance equivalent to the intel quadcores at a fraction of the price

What are you talking about? You are right. I already told you. i3 and i5 Haswell are both trash. FX-6300 rules. Now i am a amd fanboy too.

You are funny.

I think we would all prefer if you commented about your actual experience using intel and AMD cpu's and the kind of results your broad experience has shown you
