Hi! I bought HIS R9 270x graphics card it was heating more than 90 degrees and hanging my system. So i changed the power supply and bought Cooler Master GX550W but the still the issue persist. I checked my card on my brothers PC it was working fine and on max settings it was going to 60 degree maximum (he have 500w supply). I switched the supply to check if problem is about suppy but even then it was heating on my PC. I have Intel DB75EN motherboard, 8GB ram, corei5 and 64 bit windows 7 professional. What could be the problem is it the motherboard or something else??????

Solution

okay try to clean out as much dust as you can from the heatsink and fan also make sure you reapply the thermal paste underneath on the chip under the heatsink, try that

What case do you have? make sure you have good airflow because a fan has to bring in cool air for your GPU and top and back fans to take our hot air, maybe if you have good case mount a 120mm or 140mm fan on the side to cool your GPU or get water cooling like the NZXT Kraken G10 is really cheap starting from $29.99 you should so get it also make sure your case has a 120mm fan or steal your brothers computer >:)
