Pentium 4 restarts itself after runnig half an hour or 15 mins.

My computer restarts itself while i am working on windows xp, but the main problem is that after restarting it does not even go to loading page of windows xp, sometimes it goes to the CMOS page but gets stuck and restarts again automatically .

my PC is Pentium 4, 1gb DDR2 RAM, 80GB HDD, windows xp .

Kindly please answer me , whether it is hardware problem or software???

Probably overheating.
Buy a compressed air can from Best Buy or Walmart and clean out the heaksink with it.
Make sure that the fan in the rear is blowing out air.
Makre sure that the power supply's fan is also blowing out air in the rear.
Make sure that cpu fan is working.

When it restarts, tap the Function 8 key and from the Advanced Boot menu, select "Disable automatic restart on system failure" then post back some of the details from the Error Message on the blue screen. We need to see the numeric 0x0000?? and ANY_WORDS_JOINED_UP by underscores.
