hey guys,i need help on deciding a gpu for BF4 on 1440p for my new rig,i've seen the benchmarks and both of their performances are pretty similar. But on other game benchmarks, the performance difference is pretty dramatic.Which one do you guys think will be a better upgrade?*no sli options please*

-Intel Core i5 4670k
-MSI Z87 G45-GAMING
-Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz 16GB
-Seasonic S12II 620w
-Windows 8 OEM

P.S. i will be using this rig to record and render 1440p/1080p videos

I think the 780 will be better just because its newer and faster. But the the ti version would be even better because it would outlast both, but that's only if you want the best :) They are very close in performance.

Definitely not the 770 (Terrible price/performance). I am sorry but why wouldn't you just get a 280X and have the same performance as the 770 4GB for $100 less, AND 3GB of VRAM is included...

The 780 Ti here is too expensive here so i didn't include it as an option :) thanks for the quick reply :D

Well if i wanted an AMD card i was going to choose the 290(literally the same price as the 770),but i want to use shadowplay, and i'll probably use the gamestream feature on the shield as well,so that's why :) thanks for the quick reply though :D

You know that the GTX 770 is $330 and outperforms the R9 280X, in addition to having superior Nvidia drivers, right?

Anyway, the GTX 780 is the best bet easily for $500. 3 GB of VRAM is more than enough and it's going to make 1440p a much more viable option than the GTX 770 (which is an outstanding card by the way).

UPDATE:

The GTX 770 is $330, $70 cheaper than the R9 290. Also, the R9 290 and the R9 290X don't have any custom coolers available which is hell on their performance since they can heat up quite quickly. Until AMD decides to actually let manufacturers put on custom coolers, stay away from their flagship options.

Sorry, but since when did the 280X perform on the same level for less? If I remember it was priced approximately the same performing slightly worse. Go infer.

I've seen some 280X's in benchmarks compete with the 780. Don't put it down; it's a heck of an overclocker.

That said, with the bitcoin-inflated prices, it isn't a particularly good value. If you can get it for launch price, it'll be slightly cheaper than the 770... though you won't be playing at the resolutions where it pulls away from the 770 (i.e. anything greater than 1440p).
