You need to buy a PCI sound card that supports a 5.1 speaker system.

  4. If there is already a removable sound card inside your PC, yes you must remove it.

If, however, the existing sound adapter is a chip integrated on the motherboard (on-board sound), you won't be able to remove it. In that case you need to disable it in BIOS Setup otherwise you'll get a resource conflict between the integrated sound chip & your new sound card.
