I Have a Gigabyte GTX 770 and i was wondering... What are the perfect temps for the GPU. I was thinking of OC-ing the GPU to reach 84 degrees and keep it like that all the time. Will this affect the lifetime of the card? If so, what else should i choose? Still, i dont want the GPU to throttle itself.

PS: Is EVGA Precision X a good software for this?

Solution
EVGA precision is a good utility. Some nVidia cards have an interesting behavior. They will always keep the fan at low speeds, and throttle your overclock to keep within the temperature set. To overcome this many overclocking utilities have an ability to set a custom fan curve, you might try that.
Temperature wise, many cards stay at 60c, 70c is very common, 80c is perfectly fine, and companies say 90c is safe, but I do not prefer that. I would say aim somewhere from 70 to 85c.
