Alright, so..my pc.
i7 920 OC to 4.8ghz (on air too ;))
GTX 780
P6T ASUS V.2
12gb 1600 CAS 9

So I'm building a comp for my parents and I wanted to take some parts of my
pc and put them in my parents. I've wanted to get a SSD for a while but my
Mobo only gets 3gbs SATA. It also doesn't have USB 3.0 but I got a 3.0 PCI
card. So my dilemma is...I like my setup right now. My CPU seems to run
great. I'm also trying to stay on a budget with my parents. I feel stupid
buying a 3570k or 4770k when I'm still doing great the the i7 920. Should I
bite the bullet and get 3930k to make my upgrade worth it? Should I just
build a pc from scratch and keep my pc the same? Thanks a lot guys, I've
read every benchmark/review of all the Intel cpus and everything.

Solution
what i would do is pick up a low end gpu for your rig...format the drive and give it to mom and dad. use the 780 out of it and pick up a 4670k and a 120g ssd. the 4670k right now is the best gaming cpu for price/performance.
for mom and dad rig...if there not hard core gamers...there amd apu or the newer intel i3 and h81 mb.

Keep in mind too that I still have to buy another processor to put in my old
mobo. Over the last 24hrs I've been leaning toward just going balls out and
getting either a 4930k/3930k or just a 4770k. I've been really digging
deep around the internet trying to find photoshop and sony vegas real world
comparisons. CS6 camera raw can run real slow while handling RAW files.
Also in the future, it's quite likely I'll get a >1080p TV and I worry about
bottlenecking two 780's. Doesn't sound like it's an issue but I want to run
it at fps >80 on stuff like BF4 or whatever great games come out then. I
have really good eyesight btw

On the complete other hand. Just keep my mobo, buy a ssd anyways despite no sata 3. And build my parents pc from scratch. I already have my old gtx 580 to throw in their build.
