Here is my current rig:

750w power supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GTX 460 Superclocked 1gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

AMD Phenom X6 1090T black edition 3.2GHz - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

8gigs DDR3 1600 Ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Asus 880G micro ATX motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

My Case is complete **** as 2 of the fans are currently not working messing up my cooling so i have a house fan as a temp solution to that problem for now.

MY ISSUE is that even before the fans went in my case I was getting low FPS in games like arma 2-3 and now with cooling issues its almost unplayable at most times.

With christmas just around the corner im going to be upgrading my system although I am not 100% sure What I actually need to be upgrading. Above I have given you my system specs and ill try and put links as well so below ill put the specs and links to what Im thinking about upgrading to with what fits in my budget.

Cooler Master HAF 912 Blue edition - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

MSI Gaming GTX 760 2GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

8GB Ripjaw DDR3 1600 Ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

SAMSUNG 840 EVO 120gb SATA III SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Anyway my question if you don't know by now is why am I getting such low fps (normally around 10-30) in arma 2 and 3 with what i feel is a decent rig. And Secondly depending on your answer to the first question what should I upgrade to fix my issues.

IF you have links to better or similar priced better performing parts than the ones I have linked please add them to your response. Thanks in advance.

Those are some decent upgrades.. But i would also upgrade your motherboard and cpu, to a decent motherboard like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168..., and a fx 6350/6300 or fx 8320/8350.
And instead of gtx 760 i would go with R9 280x because they perform way better but the gtx 760 is fine.

Your GTX 640 is old and relatively weak compared the same range of cards today. The 760 should be quite a big step up in performance.

Your Phenom X6 was quite powerful in its day, but now it doesn't do particularly well in Arma
http://www.techspot.com/review/712-arma-3-benchmarks/pa...

As you can see the 1100T loses out to the newer FX 4320 quad core. How come? Because Arma doesn't use all 6 cores and performance falls back on the speed of individual cores. Consider overclocking to as close to or beyond 4Ghz as possible.

You might find your Christmas parts cheaper

thank you for your input, however I dont know what that fx 6350 or fx 8320 stuff is, and the R9 280x is 100$ more at least than the gtx 760.

the motherboard you linked looks fine, but my issue is why spend another 130$ on a motherboard when mine is working. I'm not opposing you I just mean like what are the reasons I should get a new one if you don't mind me asking. I know my way around comps but im not up to snuff on what all the parts do beyond the basics.

You can overclock your Phenom, or include a new CPU/board combo in your Christmas list. I can make some suggestions of what's good if you can make up a budget (for the new CPU/mobo). Also keep in mind you'll have buy new Windows OS to go with the new board, if you are using an OEM copy right now.

Ok so as of right now I'm considering getting a AMD FX-8350 which i can get for about 200$ but then Ill also be getting a GTX -760 for about 260$ plus I HAVE to get a new case which will run me about 60 -70$ plus the SSD is about 170$ so just right now im loooking at nearing 700$ in parts and I still have to get a mobo for the fx chip. so what mobo do you guys reccommend thats not too expensive?

btw my budget is probably about 600 right now because of christmas coming up. si with the must haves being a new Case, Mobo, processor and GFX card heres what I'm looking at.

Case 60$
Processor 200$
GFX card 260$
____________
520$

I can drop the SSD buy until after christmas when i've got more cash so i nee a decent Mobo that isn;t going to put my cost over 650$
I'm open to your suggestions.

When you install an OEM version of Windows, it locks itself to whatever board you were using when the license is activated. So as long as the board is the same, you don't have to buy Windows again.

If say, you want to reuse your 880G, just install the same version of Windows and activate with the same key as when you used the 880G for the first time.

As for the new board, I think one of these would be good with any FX

I'm no expert on AMD motherboards so do consider other people's suggestions.

So getting a new Mobo will require me to get a new OS then... thats a pain.

Yeah. New FX CPU means new board. New board means new OS.

Expen$ive.

Or you could just overclock your Phenom. It is a black edition after all.

I think I liked the second one you linked and it will still bring me in under 650$ which is nice. I'll sort out the getting a new OS at some point but its nice to have a list of the parts i need and which ones to get and their cost.

Thank you guys so much for taking the time to help me out I really appreciate it as I wouldn't have even known where to begin without the help. I'll keep monitoring this post if others have points of view but so far great job thanks guys.

dont know the first thing about overclocking and right now with the cooling issues overclocking probably isn't a good idea haha

Getting that new Cooler Master case probably isn't going to solve much of your cooling issue, as it comes with only one 120mm intake fan. Unless you are going to add more or transfer the working ones from the old case.

You have to be specific about the cooling issue. I assume your processor is running very hot?

well then I guess Im open to case suggestions as well haha, and yeah my rig is running very hot Im idling at 40C with only internet browsers running. Because 2 of the 3 fans are shot and the foot stands on the case are broken as well. was really just a cheap case when I bought it... here the case i currently have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

To solve that problem you will have to tackle the CPU cooler directly. Getting one case or another will result in the same thing as they don't come outfitted with a salvo of fans.

Check that your cooler is seated firmly onto the processor. It should not shake the slightest bit. Also clear it of accumulated dust. If that doesn't work it might mean it's time to reapply new thermal paste or get a new cooler altogether.

Also, AMD's stock cooler sucks.

Well I NEED a new case reguardless of whether its the cause of my heat issue or not, so If you could link a decent case that would be appreciated.

Secondly Assuming my CPU cooler is not getting the job done I'm looking into Liquid cooling as recommended by a friend but I'm way out of my element here so a link to a decent Liquid cooler would be appreciated aswell.

If you're on a budget there are no liquid coolers that will outperform a good air cooler. For example it's close to impossible to beat the Hyper 212 Evo for $30 http://www.outletpc.com/hn6355.html?utm_source=hn6355&u...

The good liquid coolers that are worth getting start from $80. Arguably the peak in liquid cooler value would be the Corsair H100i, which is only $10 away. Beyond that you'll have to start paying more for negligible improvements with some new fangled coolers.

These cases cost the same as the HAF 912. And the H100i is guaranteed to fit in the top without modifications, according to the case compatibility thread.
