Hi,
I currently can't boot and I'm a bit mystified as to what to try next.
I cracked my case open tonight to switch out my GeForce GTX 460 video card with 2 GeForce GTX 650 Ti cards. On attempting to boot afterwards, I received a "reboot and select proper boot device" error. When I went into BIOS, I saw that my SSD, which is the boot device, was not listed. I tried reseating the SATA cable, plugging it into a different port, switching in a new cable, removing one of the new video cards, removing both video cards and reinserting the old one, and unplugging all other boot devices, but I still get the same error message.
I assumed my SSD suddenly failed, so I removed it, plugged it into an external dock, and hooked the dock up to a laptop. The laptop recognizes the drive and the files, including the boot folder, are visible. So apparently the drive is not toast.
Is there any other reason why the MB/BIOS suddenly wouldn't recognize the drive? Obviously something happened when I opened up the case, but I don't know what. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Original setup was:
Windows 7 64
ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) Motherboard
Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge Processor
SAMSUNG 470 Series MZ-5PA128/US 2.5" 128GB SATA II SSD
Seagate / Barracuda 7200.10 Serial ATA-300 hard drive
Kingston HyperX 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM
GeForce GTX 460 Video Card
Ultra X4 750-Watt Modular Power Supply
