Hello. I am looking to build a computer for gaming and I have a question about sound. Is a Realtek ALC887 or ALC889 suitable enough or would a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 card make a difference? I have a budget around $35 for a new sound card if necessary since I want to spend more on other things such as decent graphic's card and power supply.

I don't have speakers yet besides the ones that comes with my monitor (ASUS). I plan on using headsets though for gaming when I research more on those.

I am not sure if this helps but I want to play games such as Battlefield 4, Guild Wars 2, and Starcraft 2.

Thanks for your time :)

Well, for instance, it's not really necessary to buy a sound card because most if not all motherboards these days support 5.1 sound, and the increase in sound quality with a sound card is minimal. But yes, a Realtek ALC887 or ALC889 is suitable enough.
