Help me with this DDR3 problem

Hi, I have 4x4 GB RAM inside my computer (Desktop) and it will only boot up 2 of these. The CPU-Z says I have 4 RAM inside, but it says only 8192gb instead of 16384gb. Help me?

Mobo: ASUS maximus V Gene
CPU: intel i5 lga1155 3550
and the RAM worked before tho, i had 16gb ram, untill i re-installed windows some times. might be afraid i have bad ram or dead ram.

check your every ram stick is running at a time or not,
install only 1 stick at a time and try every slots of ram.
This will help you to figure out whether your ram stick is dead or not or its just a motherboard problem.
