Thinking about upgrading my CPU

I have some money to spend, and want a new CPU. My current one is the AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.00GHz, which is outdated and discontinued.

Would the i5-3570 be a good upgrade? Or is there any better Intel ones for gaming that are under £230?

8GB RAM @ 1333MHz
ASUS M4A78LT-M LE (Will upgrade to MSI Z77A-G45 when I have CPU)
ASUS GT630 (Upgrading to GTX760)
2TB HDD
680 watt PSU
