what MB to choose?

I have a P4, 3.0 GHz CPU (code name Cedar Mill) and 2 GB of DDR2 ram. I want a motherboard that will work well with my hardware, and support Win XP. I live in India. Grateful for expert advice.

Thank you, Axlfone. Buying a used MB, online, would not work here. No one would make it available for a trial and there are too many crooks around! I don't know enough about technical matters, so I will ask you a couple of silly questions. Is it the chipset that makes an MB unable to support a particular CPU, though it may have the correct socket? And why does an MB not support XP? Can one do nothing to change the behaviour of an MB in these respects? Thank you for your time.
