I have an Intel core 2 quad Q8200, (yeah I know it's a piece of shit) and i want to buy a new Motherboard, because mine can only handle 8 GB of DDR3 ram, which was like god mode back when i bought it...

Are there any motherboards that will accept my CPU? and isn't for the Commodore 64...

I do plan to buy a nice new CPU sometime soon, but I would to like to use this one for now if I can.
My case is 15"x14" if that helps.
I'm a little lost on the motherboard and CPU compatibility situation so any help is appreciated, thanks!

Anything with an LGA775 socket and a 4-series chipset, IIRC. However, few boards for LGA775 used DDR3.

You might need a micro-ATX board by the sound of that case.

You'd probably be far better off getting a modern platform. Sinking money into obsolete tech is not a good idea. It'll be a waste when you do upgrade - better to set aside the MB money and grab a new CPU at the same time in a few months.
