Hey guys, before i get started here are my system's specs.

OS: Windows 8.1
Chassis: L:17.5'' W:17'' H:7.5 ''
CPU: AMD FX 8120 8-Core 3.11 GHz (Zalman 9500 Cu Heatsink)
Ram: 16 GB Ripjaw 2200 (2x 8gb)
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 7950 OC Edition 3gb VRam (This card has 2 variable fans on it's face) Also with the latest AMD video drivers. I do not have my video card Overclocked higher than it was upon purchasing.
Mainboard: Crosshair V Formula
Fans: 1 Intake fan Bottom Front , 1 intake fan on side, 1 Exhaust Vortex PMW Cougar 800-1500 RPM Fan on Upper rear of chassis.
PSU: 650 watt

As stated in the Title. My computer is getting very hot, to the point of involuntary resetting while playing BF4 In both Campaign, and Multiplayer modes. I know this game is new, granted. But I own/play other graphics intensive games such as Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, and Tombraider with extreme quality and those games do not crash on me (though i imagine it's possible with those game if i sit and play them long enough) But battlefield crashes within 30 minutes of play, every time. It's become very frustrating, and i'm concerned as to if my PC is taking a toll because of this. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. -Blynded

Yes, so you were probably running on a stock profile of the card which wasn't doing the job of cooling :p

And yes, I can explain. I have EVGA Precision, but I don't think it's much different than MSI afterburner. First you need to find a monitoring tab in the software. The next step hopefully you will see an option where you can change the fan profile. from there you will see a line graph with X and Y axis with percent/temperature and a default line. You can add points to the line or move points to however you prefer.

Ideally, you should make a fan profile that fits your best cooling needs.
Hop this helps.
Cheers!

Hello,

Do you have a graphics card monitoring software where you can alter the fan profile? Maybe your fans are not high enough? Also, Are you playing on Ultra? What monitor are you running on and is Vsync enabled or disabled?

Yes, I use MSI Afterburner for my monitoring. My Monitor is a 24'' G-Series 1920x1200. Thank you, I will turn the fans all to max to see if we can pull more airflow through the exhaust much nicer exhaust fan. and Yes (this is in my original post) I do play on the highest Video settings available. V-sync is off in most games, except Bioshock infinite. :)

Yes try altering that fan profile. On my GTX 670, when I reach 50 degrees, I have my fans bump up to 70% so that my card rarely goes over 60 degrees. You could even try just going from ultra to high graphics and see what kind of temperature decrease you could get, because the differences from ultra to high are very subtle, but the ultra setting is very costly in terms of performance.

K I will post my results soon, MSI afterburner is taking a while to Download, this is a recent installation of windows 8.1 so i didn't have all of software ready. Oops :), I love my bells and whistles friend, and if at all possible, i'll try and stay on ultra :) just got his new fan, it's supposed to do WONDERS! Oh, can you explain how i can make my own fans increase upon reaching a certain temp? (GPU fan included)

Unfortunately i bumped up the speed of my fans by quite a bit and then to their extremes, and after about 25 minutes of playing BF4 campaign the game shut off again, maybe it's because of the game? Anyone else having a similar experience?
