Since purchasing my radeon 290 last week i have had random system shutdowns and instability issues. Today during bf4 it died on me, this time for good! I can get to the bios with a weird vertical multicoloured bar taking up quarter of the screen but it flat refuses to boot. Upon further inspection i can see a couple of bridged solder points which had overheated, turning brown in colour and an oily residue on the fan exits near the dvi outputs, presumably oil from the fan! Its a shame because the card was easily returning 70fps on ultra settings.
I would be interested in hearing from other members who have experienced issues with this card.
Also are there better manufacturers out there than sapphire?
