its an ace psu. model:400x (don't think its very good quality:/)
amd athlon 64x2 4000+ cpu
4gb ram 2x2gb

Don't get it.
Your PSU is pure crap.
8A on the 12V rail 1
13 A on the 12V rail 2.

I'm guessing 18-19A out of both of them combined.
That's very low.
Get a good PSU.
Check this list -

EggXpert Tiered PSU List
Get a tier 1-3 PSU.

Out of those brands, if you purchase one with 400W output, then yes, it will work, given the PSU has a 6 pin PCIe power connector(it should).

WTH.

See the OP's budget man.
the 400W PSU he used is priced $14.41 at amazon.

How the HELL would he be able to buy the RM1000 costing $200?

Also, not all people can afford a 770.

thanks, ill definitely buy it next time i get the money :)

While I see you have one, I use a Rosewill HIVE 550w. While it isn't the best it is more than enough for my system. With my i7 870, 8GB RAM, HD 7770 and one hdd I can only pull 230w. I've never seen it higher, it usually hits around 170. The HD 7770 only consumes around 80w, 100 when overclocked.

Hey, I've got the same question. I'm getting the CX430, will it work? I've been told yes, but want to verify. CoolerMaster's PSU calculator says I need 305 watts, and it's a 430W PSU. Thoughts?
