I am in a little dilemma here. I am trying to OC my Corsair vengeance pro 1866Mhz memory to 2133Mhz on my build. For the life of me, I cannot get this thing right. Here is my current build:
Windows 7 64bit
A10-6800K 4.7Ghz APU OC
ASUS A88X-Pro MoBo [just boughtfor the purpose of OC'ing memory]
Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866Mhz 2x8GB Memory
XFX HD 7950 3GB GPU
Cool master 750W PSU

I can get into the BIOS, np...but when I change the timings to 10-10-10-30-2 I attempt to change the voltage up to 1.65v but BIOS does not accept and on reboot, I get as far as the Windows 7 logo and it shuts down and tries to reboot again.

Anyone have this MoBo? or mem? or all of the above? If so, what do you have your 2133Mhz mem timed to? and voltage?

What am I doing wrong? First ASUS MoBo ever. Always used Gigabyte. So not too familiar with it's BIOS and/or settings. Anyone???

The 1.65v will guarantee that your voltage is not the issue for your overclock. If those timings are stable then you can try lowering the voltage down if you don't want to be running 1.65v. Also you might have to raise your CPU/NB voltage a bit as well.

have you tried with higher timings?

if you have use the 7950 then the ram oc won't help so overclock the cpu instead. Overclocking the ram only helps if you use the integrated gpu within the apu.

I already OC'd my A10-6800K @ 4.7Ghz....but can do better with 4.825Ghz...however...sketchy about overheating...although I have an aftermarket CPU Cooler made by ENERMAX...this thing id huge :)

also...CGUID says my CPU temp is roughly 64-68c and going over 74c is max safe temp

OK...I did 11-10-11-30-2 @ 1.60v and all is well now :) I may even try lowering the voltage some more...but for the time being I am 90% where I want to be with my comp. Other 10% is that when I run the ASUS AI 3...it OC's my CPU even further to 4.8Ghz...but my memory becomes unstable. I'll count my blessings and keep it as @ 4.5Ghz clock voltage and 2133Mhz Memory.

My system is running all my game @ Max settings with 0 hiccups. I currently play:

BF4
WoW
D3
Crysis 3
DMC
FC 3
Hitman Absolution
TR and several other titles. Being an AMD build, I give them 5 out of 5 stars...but that's a whole different thread :)

Thx for the help...I'll mark this as resolved

In actuality, the faster your memory...the better your APU will perform...thx though

Glad I can help! Did you run memtest to check stability? BF4 definitely benefits from the faster RAM, Corsair did a test with it, and since I have OC'd my RAM it definitely made a difference as well.
