so im planning on getting a 120mm arctic cooling f12 pwm fan as a bottom intake to supply cool air to my GPU (asus r9 280x direct cu2). is this a good idea and also is having 7 fans overkill? thanks in advance

More about : cooling gpu

More fans doesn't always mean better..

The most important think is, air flow direction..positive or negative pressure..
usually negative pressure is better..

actually i've using 9 fans in my case..:D
all wired with 5v, so it's really silence..

Fans addition to graphic card, well this is not a bad idea..
just make sure, that the fan addition will directly blow cool air to your graphic cards fan..

thanks for answering, i have 3 intakes (2 front and 1 bottom) and 3 exhausts (2 top 1 rear)
is this good airflow direction and will it cool my components efficiently.
also have 2 80mm fans by hdd but doesnt really do much lol

what is your case cause u might be able to get rid of a couple fans for a 200mm fan a 200mm moves a boat load of fan at very quiet speeds and is overall better than 140mm fans and a 200mm provides better airflow allowing for your compenents to be cooler

zalman z11 plus, only allows 120/140mm fans, i can fit up to 8 fans (one in 5.25 bays)
