I have an HP Pavilion desktop PC that broke a while back. I didn't know much about computers back then so I just put it away and got a new one. I recently took to trying to fix it, seeing as im better with computers now. Basically the computer was stuck in a boot loop. Without any recovery discs I can't do much. So I downloaded a Windows 7 install ISO and put it on a bootable flash drive. My intention was to just install/repair with that and if it worked, buy a copy of windows 8 since I didn't want to buy an OS if it wouldn't work. I can get to the point of the install where I choose a drive and none are recognized. The drive is a Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB hard drive. I tried downloading the nvidia SATA controller drivers for it from HP but I don't know how to install it from the Win7 installation. I've checked the cables (Power and Data) 100 times. I've also tried using other cables but still nothing. I can't tell if the drive is dead or not starting because I'm not sure what to listen for. Any help would be appreciated. I can post more info if needed.
