Yes this motherboard supports dual gpu,
but it will affect the performence of the crossfire because you've 2 PCIe x16 slots but 1st slot [blue one] is running at x16 and 2nd slot [black one] is running at x4 mode.
means your 2nd gpu will not perform at its best.

So in the end I wont actually beable to use the benefits of dual graphics card because my moba is not advanced enough. I would also be wasting money on a second

No , its not like that.
your crossfire will do its job but just 5-10 less performence than the other crossfireX of same GPUs.
