The card I planned on purchasing previously (GTX 670) is out of stock just about everywhere unless it's significantly overpriced. So I've decided to go with a better tier of cards; looking at some benchmarks it looks like the 280X might have a slight edge but based on peoples opinions it seems the 770 is slightly superior out of the three. Also if there is a card within the same price range (~$330) that is better than all three of these please let me know

Solution
I would say go for the 280x if physx isn;t as important, they both will be almost the same but with 280x and 7970 you would get crosfire for future while that motherboard doesn;t support nvidia sli, i can only suggest noctua they are expensive, but they are the best

tthe 7970 is the same card as r9 280x if you want you can put the 280x bios on most or all of the 7970's and its about the same as 770 so its just what you want more mantle, or physx or other features

Out of these two which would perform best on THIS build?

GTX 770
-1150 MHz core clock
-256-bit 2GB DDR5

R9 280x
-1000 MHz core clock
-384-bit 3GB DDR5

I plan on playing at 1920x1080 on a 21.5"

note: the 280x is out of stock on newegg and I would have to buy THIS instead

Also If I'm using the cooler master elite 430 (120mm front 120mm bottom 120mm side) which case fans should I use to ensure my system doesn't get too hot with these cards?

I don't plan on running SLI/Crossfire which is why I chose the mobo I did, it would (probably) be better to just upgrade my GPU by the time I would feel like spending the money to get a 2nd card for SLI. and PhysX is pretty important because I play games with a lot of particle effects so I should get the GTX 770?

Alright and before purchasing, I saw somewhere that it has a large heatsink but in a review video i didn't notice anything abonormal about it, it should fit fine in my build right?
