New SSD Need to Transfer OS

I want to transfer the OS, which is Windows 7 Home Premium OEM from my Western Digital Black HDD to my new Seagate 600 SSD 240gb. Just wondering how I should go about doing it...
Thanks.

Solution
If you just want the OS installed on the SSD, then your best bet would be to do a fresh install. If you're wanting the OS and all of your installed programs (or most of them), the you'll want to google "cloning to an SSD".

Alright I've decided to just clone system files instead of a fresh installation, but how do I format the ssd? It shows up in the disk manager, I initialized it, but I cannot figure out how to format it so it will show up under computer

Use this..
http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html

There are 2 ways you use this.. Disk Backup and Restore but i would suggest Disk Clone..

Disk Clone would copy everything exactly from 1 disk to another but the backup and restore option is better if you have a secondary storage.

How to clone if both drives are connected.

Step 1: Install the software.. its free.
Step 2: Use Disk Clone to copy from Disk 1(old) to Disk 2 (new)

Once all is done.. Either remove the old drive or change settings in your BIOS to use your new drive as primary boot.

I would suggest a backup of your OS as it helps accidents in the future.

Good Luck
