Underclocking 7790 Help

HOWDY! (Howdy? lol)
So I have a MSI 7790, and am running it on a 450w psu, I was wonder if somebody could give me the steps to underclock/undervolt it to improve system stability.

I am afraid that is not a decent PSU, its a Tier 5 PSU on quality ranking. So the PSU is the weak link here, might causing the problem. To make sure borrow another PSU and test with it. See what happens.

Is it happening with every game or just any specific game ?

Why do you want to underclock ? What are the issues you are having ?

Radeon HD 7790 - 21A and a 500W psu minimum, though it will run on 450W PSU, if its a decent one.

Measured power consumption - HD 7790
1.System in IDLE = 99W
2.System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 179W
3.Difference (GPU load) = 80W
4.Add average IDLE wattage ~10W
5.Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 90 Watts

What is the make/model of PSU ?

YOU SIR ARE A SAINT!
I have been freaking out that my 7790 on a 450w has been the problem! Freezing and the screen going black has been going down lol. Its a brand new card and can run fine for 15 min with furmark (longest I have tested).. How have you countered this problem with the drivers?

I tried using MSI Afterburner in OC mode (without an OC) but that pushed the idle temps up to +50c so I took the card out and put my 560Ti back in. Next year when I build a new PC I am going to try it again as a secondary card for folding because its useless for anything else IMHO.
