Hello, I have a Compaq sr2173wm desktop pc and would like to upgrade the video. What would be a decent upgrade for me? It has a pci-e slot. I'm running windows 7, 64 bit. I have a Geforce 8400GS card installed now. It's 512 mb and believe to be 32 bit. I have an upgraded 480w power supply. Could I go with a 1 gig card with 128 bit? Or would I have to go with a 64 bit card? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

your safest bet would be a radeon 7750 i think. that way you dont need to worry about additional power connectors for the card. also anything more powerful could be overkill for your cpu. is it an athlon x2?

if your 480 psu is branded high quality one, then you can get up to gtx 760

almost any graphics you choose will be botllenecked by the cpu. find something (with gcn architecture) on the 50-100usd range or the 7750 as i said above as a safe choice:

I'm going to first upgrade my cpu to a 5000+ and see if that helps. Thanks so far for all of your suggestions.
