Hey guys,

Hope your all staying all warm and fuzzy this December. I recently bought myself another GTX 560TI to do a SLI configuration. I rebuilt my pc rig and was excited to give the sli a go. I started to notice that the case was running pretty warm. I felt my graphics card and it was burning hot. After checking the temps I see that the two gpu stabalizes at 60-70 degree celesius.
I know that this shouldn't be anything to worry about seeing how the temperature can cap up to 100 degrees, but I am use to seeing only 50 degrees for my gpu temps. I'm one of those paranoid temperature guys out there :).
I found out that the reason for the temps was because the reduce amount of clearance between my two gpus. Clearance is about an inch and a half which isn't bad at all.
So like the subject said, what options do I have for cooling? I see that there's fan mods out there for gpu, but its very unclear to me. If you can enlighten me on this then I would aprreciate it.
The other option that I was going for was liquid cooling. More expensive, but it would look amazing in my case. After looking around I see that the waterblock for graphic cards are very limited. Is there a waterblock out there for the gtx 560ti? Much help is always appreciated!

Current case is a Corsair 600t, plenty of room for airflow. I have a total of 5 fans excluding the stock p/s fan and watercooler radiator fans. All fans are going intake and the radiator fan is the outake. This is the setup I had before putting in sli. I had no problems with the temps before.

Naturally when you throw in a second card in sli the top card tends to run hot, and you are facing the same issue i faced with the case not having the ability to mount a fan to blow over the cards. The way i solved this was to buy an Antec spot cooling fan, the moment i done this it reduced temps on the top card by 10c. I had also considered water-cooling and blocks , but in the long run the constant maintenance would drive me crazy. So i would try that as a solution first before going down the road of liquid cooling. It worked for me.

Hmm....thats interesting, I never hear of that fan before. I forgot to mention that one of my fans is actually a pci addon. I currently have it placed under the 2nd gpu, but planning on sticking it between the two cards instead. Though I'm not sure if that would be a good choice. What's your take on it? And thanks for the much needed help :)

to be honest, haven't heard much on the success of those pci fans so i can only talk from my own experience, in rems of the positioning of your pci fan just remember that hot air rises so effectively your just blowing hot air from the bottom card up to the top card which is why your probably seeing an increase in temps , what you need to do is try and get some cooling between the 2 cards and have the hot air blow out the back, thats what i did.

Hmm, 50C, your going to need to stay away from highend GPU's altogether single, double, or triple if your looking for those kind of temps.

STOCK:

R9 290X & 290's are "Designed" to run at 95C..........(before CF)

All the new NVidia 770, 780, 780Ti, Titan are "Designed" to run at 85C.....(before SLI)

But back to the topic. No WAY water cooling something like a pair of 560Ti's would make sense, too costly. Sell BOTH 560Ti's and get a watercooled 780 or 780Ti. I only say watercooled 780 because no way any Single highend air cooled card will run under 65C .....

Spot cooler i believe is around $10 on amazon and can be mounted pretty much anywhere in the case and directed to whichever components you wish to cool see below

Hopes this helps Henry.

Cool, cost and effective, i'll give that fan a try to see what the results will be.
