Is the price worth it for a 780 ti compared to a 780 also what would be the best brand to buy from?

Decide for yourself.

About a 15% performance gain for a 40% price hike. Makes more sense to buy one 780 now and add another later if you need the extra speed, assuming you have an SLI board and capable power supply.

290 is also a good choice provided you can wait for aftermarket coolers, its way too loud and way too hot to be a good choice at the moment.

Yea but I'm buying everything over time so budget isn't that much of a problem, what brand should I get it from?

If you mean 780TI, brand does not matter because they are all identical at the moment, no aftermarket coolers right now. If you mean 780, the MSI Gaming is unquestionably the coolest and quietest.

Would it be better to get 2 R9 280x Toxics or 1 GTX 780 ti

Last gen Crossfire isn't that great, personally would avoid it. Theres frame pacing, but its only implemented in certain DX11 games, the 290/X has hardware framepacing so doesn't suffer this so much. Between those two 1x 780Ti would be better.

We'll I'd disagree a bit, I'm running two (2) R9 280X Sapphire Vapor-X cards and have no complains on CF. Plays ANY game max'd out @ 1920x1080.

But, there's no way to make it go faster, when it's need.......

So, I always start off a build with fastest single card I can get/ (ah, afford). So, at this time, yeah GTX 780Ti....... as it allows the most potential room for future upgrade without trashing that original card.
