Hey everyone, I'm looking to build a 500-600 Gaming PC mainly for World of Warcraft(Raiding 25m's). I would like to run on ultra in 25M raids and with decent FPS. I also should mention I need an Operarting System, but I do have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Whats the best CPU I can get for my budget?

Solution

Well I'll be honest I don't play WOW so I couldn't tell you. But what I can tell you there's no such thing as GPU holding back CPU. CPU runs the show. CPU could hold back GPU not the other way around like nobody implied. I choose the 2600 because later you might want a different graphic card so with that CPU you don't need another one. The 650 runs @ 1080 AKA 1920 x 1080 which is where you want to be. You can slack on PSU as the 650 needs only 400 watts @ 20 amps, but I wouldn't. 4 gigs of memory ram is minimum 8 gig is sweet spot.Tower can be whatever they got them for 20 USD some places. Hope this helps.Your more than welcome to contact me anytime as this area is my passion.

Not only that but it'd be completly unecessary for gaming... anyway where would you buy a 2600k nowadays?

I've been building P.C.'s & Servers for 10 years now. Some people talk just to blurt out, others talk because they have something to say.

Learn to recognize fools Nicks188 when you see them or hear them. I do. Good luck Bro.

lol @ an i7 with a 650 (non ti) that gpu will hold back the cpu heavily so its a waste of money on the cpu but go for it if you want to be able to brag you have an i7 instead of having a system the is all around the same performance level and will run great in game instead of bottlenecking. and only 4gb ram

Bro just shut up already you look and sound like a fool just give up you got corrected dirty style. Any cpu 2.8 or better is fine for WOW. Stick to playing baby games already let Pro's who know run this.

lol you are funny as shit i said it was the gpu that would hold his cpu back. never said it wouldnt do the job just saying a better balanced build is in my opinion always better. but you know nothing about me and my knowledge and can talk all the shit you want. build your super cpu/shitty gpu build and have fun

with either build you will run wow at high to ultra at 60+ fps as it is not a very demanding game. my old pc i gave my son is a gt220 gpu and core 2 duo 2.9ghz (2 core) 6 years old and was built when i first started playing WoW. and it runs it at high with 40-50 fps. most APU's are even enough for that game. but i wouldnt know as nanfoe said im a fool

ITS CALLED BOTTLENECKING THE GPU CAN ONLY PROCESS SO MUCH AT ONCE SO THE EXTRA CPU POWER IS WASTED AND WILL CAUSE LAG WAITING FOR THE DAM GPU TO CATCH UP THATS WHY U NEED BALANCE OTHERWISE A GT210 AND I7-4770k WOULD BE THE BEST BUILD EVER SINCE THE GPU IS LIKE $40 NOW ON YOUR LOGIC

Yeah we know...... The CPU bottlenecks the GPU. what else you want to know?

ok so then build a pc with a 40 dollar gpu and 500 dollar cpu and play modern games then link the video showing that the gpu isnt holding back the cpu. id love to see your logic at work..... im done with this thread

O.K. was glad to clear that up for you since it appeared you wanted to learn if you can understand. It is after all mind over matter...... If you have no mind it doesn't matter. Cheers mate!
