Need Help with Sub $1000 USD NAS PC

Hi all,

So I am helping my friend build an NAS PC for hosting their website. My only requirements are the price, it must be either RAID 1 or 1+0, and must be enclosed in a dedicated NAS box from Synology (They are in Taipei and only have access to Synology in case something goes wrong).

Any input is appreciated,

A synology enclosure is used solely for storage. It acts as a home cloud storage. If thats what you want, then just look which enclosure you want if you already have or will get the hard drives...

Ok so let me get this straight. you want a NAS pc (so a pc with a lot of storage and RAID), and the cost of a synology box with harddrives in it?

I wish to have a NAS pc using a Synology Enclosure and I buy the Hard drives.

A synology enclosure is used solely for storage. It acts as a home cloud storage. If thats what you want, then just look which enclosure you want if you already have or will get the hard drives. If you want an actual PC that can have windows etc. then it won't be a synology enclosure because it needs a real case.
