I did put the pump power on max but as u say that u connect the fan into the CPU socket so that it is automatically controlled by the mobo by the CPU temperature, well in my case it is impossible because the cable from the fan is 3 pin which means that there is no PWM which is the 4 th pin that controls the fan speed.
Yes, I understand. I am under the impression that the radiator fan is designed to run quietly at its stated 1700rpm. Sorry, I know that you know about the PWM connection; I was just suggesting that the cooler may actually be quiet at full rpm and that the 4th pin (pwm) wouldn't be necessary.
Please bear with me, I am not trying to be a smart a** here, but a couple possible solutions:
Can it be returned to where ever you bought it? If so, and if you are not happy with it, return it and exchange it for an H50 (mine has PWM fans with 4 wire leads) or an H60. The H60 might cost a couple dollars more but the H50 should be about the same or less. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181010)
#2. Call Corsair Customer Service. Explain that you are not satisfied with the fan system. Offer to purchase one of the fans that would normally be included with the H60, or have them suggest a replacement fan. NO guarantee, but when I wanted to put a second fan on my H50, and explained my reluctance to buy a fan which might not match the stock one, they sent me one. Might not happen to you, but won't know 'til you try. Even so 120mm PWM fans are realtively inexpensive.
