Do you have to have a gaming mouse, gaming keyboard, and gaming mouse-pad to do well in FPS like bF4 etc? I will get a gaming mouse solely for the side buttons but is a gaming keyboard and especially mouse-pad necessary? Is is just wasted money. Any different from normal peripherals or performance boost?

No any mouse pad is fine, and a gaming keyboard is nice for things like macro keys and such, but you said you are already getting a mouse with macro buttons so you should be set there. A gaming keyboard isn't necessary but can be nice to have if you can afford it
